Kay Clifton has been making music for more than half of his life. Since he was 15 and kids at school started calling him Quiz Kid because he could out-rap anyone around in his eastern Washington hometown. Today, he’s a producer and lyricist, and member of Pacific Northwest collaborative All Urban Outfield. Sidestepping fads and spotlights, Clifton continues to experiment with sounds and styles that come from the shadows and unexplored parts of the brain, making music that is both psychedelic and heart-wrought, catchy and intellectual.
