Reggae and Hip-Hop/Rap
« Lo pwin an lèr fo kryé : Félèvé ! » sings Kaf RouGe, with these words, he invites his audience to join the mouvement, to never give up, to push away his limits. These are the messages he claims on stage, with rage and a certain disillusionment, on a captivating blended reggae pop, where his skank funk-rock sharpens his words. Native from La Montagne (North of Reunion Island), this is where he made his debut, solo and accompanied by other musicians (MAP 974, Ras Maron); and built around his lyrics, a music influenced by Jamaican reggae, Brazilian percussion and underground rock. His first EP ‘#Félèvé - Part 1’, a 5 tracks album released in 2014, Announced already the bias of Kaf RouGe, where music rhymes with 'métissage', as in the title 'Bangarang' which borrows the codes of Reggae Dub and The EDM, on an obstinately Rock guitar riff. 'Overseas Dub Session', the latest project of the artist, also claims this musical mixing, especially with the first track 'Weednesday' released late March 2017, and brings a little more light on the vision of this creative but discreet artist.
