Kai is Andrey Silva, Errol Viray, Andrew Gapuz, AC Lorenzo and Leo Chan. Four of the five members are Filipino-American with Leo Chan born in Hong Kong of Chinese parentage. Kai is an abbreviation of the Tagalog word 'kaibigan', which denotes harmony and universal brotherhood.
