Karl Johann Braun von Braunthal

1802-1866 AT

Karl Freiherr von Braun, or Karl Johann Braun von Braunthal (or indeed Karl Johann Braun Ritter von Braunthal), was an Austrian author. Born on 6 June 1802 in Eger, died 26 November 1866 in Vienna. Although he wrote a tragedy called "Faust", published in 1835 [too late...], he is best remembered as the author of the libretto to Conradin Kreutzer's romantic opera "Das Nachtlager in Granada", drawn from Friedrich Kind's drama.
