Rock
Kary was a rock band from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia that was comprised of Paul Murphy (10) and Tim D'eon of the Juno award-winning indie rock band Wintersleep, and bassist Jesse Luke and drummer Mark d'Eon. They were part of a local collective called Dependent Music. Kary formed sometime in the late 90s and is referred to as "Wintersleep's ferocious cousin". Kary released their debut full length LP The Sound of Beauty Breathing on Dependent Music in 2001, and after widespread critical acclaim, they followed up with their swan song Light in 2004. Kary's shows have almost reached a "mythical status", despite building an international devout cult-like following. After their initial side-project Wintersleep took off the ground, Kary disbanded after releasing Light, and have not released a song since. The band has been stated as saying that they are on "indefinite hiatus". CD copies of Kary releases are highly sought after by devout fans and members of the music scene, and are very increasingly rare to come by.
