Kaylyn´s musical origins root in classical music, the musical environment she was raised in by her parents. Later she took up ballet-, piano- and music studies. While studying in the USA she was influenced by grunge, wave and funk. In 1990 she went to her first techno party. It was a crucial experience for her because it meant the initiation of her interest in electronic music. Kaylyn is interpreter, composer, author and producer in one person. She thinks of her music as images that develop into tales and stories. Her debut album The Vampire State Building seems to be a vampire story at first look, but if you look closer you will come across an almost philosophical examination of the meaning of life and the fundamental question of good and evil. Kaylyn wants to incite the imaginary forces of the listener, she wants to entertain and tell a tale. The interpretation of that tale however, is left to the listener´s fantasy. She didn´t pick the topic of vampires for her first album at random. Kaylyn has a deep interest in mysticism in it´s most diverse manifestations. She sees vampires as a symbol for the beauty of horror, for the dark side of eroticism. They are the incarnation of the fascination immortality holds for human beings, the fascination of an existence beyond good and evil and beyond human morality. However, Kaylyn also is a modern young woman of the 90ies. She gets her inspirations from books, movies, pictures, people and from her own ways of thought. Black is her favorite colour and the night is her best friend. She entertains the most diverse interests; accordingly you could come across her at the hippest clubs as well as at a modern art museum, a musical, an opera or a rock concert.
