Dance
A.k.a. Jeff Mishima
Producing since 1998, Kem first experimented in Drum & Bass and downtempo, ultimately settling on breakbeat as the new breaks movement began to surface. Heavily influenced by Drum & Bass, he quickly was drawn in by the hard drums and driving bass of this new hybrid genre. In 2002, his first record was a self-pressed single, with "Blood Simple" and "Vice," which got him his first official release on Transformer Man's UK label Tomorrow Sounds. Residing in his hometown of Portland OR, USA, Kem holds a position as a member of the Northwest breaks crew Virus, as well as the breaks/dnb/turntablist collective Darkcity.
