High school education in Fairbanks Alaska. 1949-1951 studied at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma Washington, 1950-1955 residing with Cecil R and Lucy G Benshoof in Spokane, 1951-1953 studied at Spokane Conservatory Washington, 1958 BA from the University of Washington in Seattle, 1958-1962 music teacher in Seattle Washington, 1963 MA from San Francisco State University, 1965-1966 studied in London at the Guildhall School of Music as a Fulbright Scholar, studied with Volfgangs Darzins, John Verrall, Roger Nixon, George Frederick McKay and Alfred Neiman, 1963-1992 instructor/professor and 1992 professor emeritus at the University of Washington in Seattle.
