The work is scored for solo viola and string orchestra. ON A SUFFICIENT CONDITION FOR THE EXISTENCE OF MOST SPECIFIC HYPOTHESIS (2008) was composed for and premiered by the Boston Modern Orchestra Project under the direction of Gil Rose, with the composer as soloist. The piece calls for vocal soloist with amplification, boombox, and orchestra. KAZE-NO-OKA (2005) was commissioned by the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, who premiered it under the direction of Gil Rose, with soloists Kifu Mitsuhashi, shakuhachi and Yukio Tanaka, biwa. The work is scored for biwa, shakuhachi, and orchestra.
