In 1977, Kermit Hunter was the Dean Emeritus of the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University and also the Writer in Residence. He has had more plays produced than any other America playwright, most of them dealing with native American themes and staged in outdoor amphitheaters. He has written movie scripts, two novels, and wrote a column for the Park Cities News in Dallas, Texas, of which he was a co-publisher.
