Kes began his music career at a very tender age attending classical guitar and piano lessons. Kes’ early musical memories and influences include The Beatles and potatoes (he wrote his first song aged 10 for a school competition for the Potato Marketing Board). While steam rolling through his teens with big hair and spandex Kes' musical journey took him to 12 hour day practice sessions devoted to the likes of Van Halen, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. His rock career highlights included a Maida Vale session for Radio One, supporting international rock bands of the time and playing with bands such as Girlschool and Terrorvision. He also enjoyed the honour of a John Peel Session on Radio One with his band Leafeater. He also experienced chart success with his other band Malibu Stacey (formed with Terrorvision bassist Leigh Marklew). Kes loves writing for Audio Network as it allows him to explore all genres of music without the limits imposed by writing for a band.
