Album US 2014 on The Estate Of Kevin Gilbert label
Rock and Pop
In November of 1990, Kevin began promotion for the Toy Matinee album. His first stop was The Mark & Brian Show at 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles. The night before this appearance, Kevin (with Marc Bonilla and Spencer Campbell) recorded their full acoustic rehearsal live, in-studio. That rehearsal is represented here on this CD. Along with Toy Matinee favorites, they chose a few covers from Crosby, Stills, and Nash, The Beatles, and Elton John. Their between-song-banter, as well as their sense of humor is captured and will entertain you. After that monumental performance on The Mark & Brian Show, Kevin was asked back to perform at the annual KLOS Christmas Show. Again, the night before the show, Kevin and Marc Bonilla sat in-studio and rehearsed an acoustic version of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel". Wrapping up this CD are three songs from a Toy Matinee performance from early 1991 at the Ventura Theater, with Kevin Gilbert, Marc Bonilla, Spencer Campbell, Sheryl Crow, and Toss Panos.
