A.k.a. Kevin Kraig Toney
American pianist, and composer; though he also plays the cello, and alto saxophone. Born: 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. He is married to Phyllis Saunders Toney. He has been involved with music since the age of 5, and professionally since the early 1970s. He attend Howard University in Washington, D.C. and graduated with a B.A. in Composition and Jazz Studies, and it was during his time here that he became the leader of the The Blackbyrds. He has worked largely as a solo artist since their demise in 1982.
