Album US 1997 on Qwest Records label
R&B/Soul (Swingbeat, Soul)
Despite a couple of dull moments, Keystone's debut album, A Tear Fall in Brooklyn, is an impressive marriage of classic soul and contemporary hip-hop. Like many of their peers, the duo has a fondness for rolling hip-hop beats and pleading, soulful ... Full Description vocals. The record lacks any uptempo dance workouts -- Keystone prefers seductive, romantic soul. At their best, the group can create sultry, slow-tempo singles like "If It Ain't Love" and "I Can't Live Without You," and at their worst, they're simply pleasantly bland. However, the singles are strong enough to make A Tear Falls in Brooklyn a promising debut worth the time of many urban R&B fans.
