Blending hip hop with African soul on jazzy blue notes, South African-born singer Khethukubonga “Khethi” Ntshangase “afrosouljazz” sound brings to mind the soul stylings of jazz and soul connoisseurs. Bringing her social activist toolbox along for the ride, Khethi sings songs of up-liftment and awareness. Her musical journey and pursuit to establish her name as a global brand is cosmic; inspired by her need to think out of the box! Originally from a “Sleepy Hollow” town called Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu Natal, she has lived and worked in Johannesburg, Malawi, England and Tanzania and has collaborated with creative minds from Malawi, France, Spain, Algeria, Mali, Jamaica, England and India. “We had numerous meetings at our head offices in Guildford and we acknowledged the significance of us being together. It sometimes felt like being in a UN meeting with all the translations back and forth.” Young and driven they put their skills together and worked to create songs, produce shows/events, record music, design promotional material and develop strategies for a way forward for their business partnership
