Rock and Blues
Italian blues band from Cagliari / Santulussurgiu. King Howl play heavy blues influenced by the sounds of the first part of the 20th century, like those of Son House, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Robert Johnson. These are filtered out and take new shape in combination with stoner rock, funk, punk, and jazz in a new blend filled with spontaneity and naturalness, in a direct way. Their set is is a flow of sounds that never stops, which changes at each song, speaking the blues language, with a different accent every time. The band released a 3-track EP in 2010 and the full-length “King Howl Quartet” in 2012, produced by Talk About Records. Since their beginning, King Howl have played live frequently, bringing them around Italy and Europe (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Switzerland). The band has also participated in international festivals such as Time in Jazz, Maximum Festival, Freiburg Fuzz Fest, and has opened for Fatso Jetson, Yawning Man, Bob Margolin, Tre allegri Ragazzi morti, Il Teatro degli Orrori, and Salmo. In 2014 released the "Truckstop EP", four tracks mixed by Gabriele Boi (The Rippers, Mojomatics). The work fully reflects the sound built by the band through the years, and the new tracks will enrich the explosive live-set which King Howl bring to their audience.
