Kjell Stensson

Kjell Stensson, born October 18, 1917 in Landskrona, died June 13, 1990 in Stockholm, a Swedish radio technologies, radio profile and author. Stensson took part in several radio and television contexts, including in the Twenty Questions. Many will remember him since he was in the television 1 April 1962 deceived viewers that a nylon stocking over the TV screen in order to be able to see the color TV. Kjell Stensson also tried to launch the new invention "Kunstkopf" which meant that they were able to record extremely realistic stereo recordings using a showroom dummy head with the difference that the ear canals of the ears were exact copies of human real ear canals and microphones on the eardrums place. This gave such a realistic sound effect that it was difficult to distinguish between the recording and the reality of being listened to such recording through headphones. This invention, however, never struck through, among other things because it does not sound as good in speakers. Stensson was also a prolific writer, especially in the Stockholm newspaper, where he reviewed crime novels and classical music on the disc and wrote columns for including radio technology. He was also the start of the Swedish Crime Writers' Academy. He also had a regular Q&A column in the newspaper Röster i Radio TV
