Klapa "Solin" was initially founded 1953 as part of RKUD Dalmacija-Cement, Solin (Dalmatia), Croatia. During the past it had its "ups and downs". A reunion followed in 1974 under the name RKUD Dalmacijacement - Udarnik ¬Solin (RKUD - Working clas Culture and Art Union). At that time many eminent Croatian musicians and folklore specialist were members of the klapa/choir as Branko Šegović, Marinko Katunarić, Ljubo Stipišić, Rajmir Kraljević, Duško Tambača, Daniel Šeparović and others. Today´s "constellation" is active since 2002. As a klapa choir it consists of 7 members (singers) and performs under the leadership of conductor maestro Tonći Ćićerić. Klapa "Solin" nourishes the tradition of traditional Dalmatian klapa singing mainly based on traditional folk songs but also traditional sacral choir music. As such this particular choir is well known under klapa music lovers. Klapa "Solin" performes regulary at national and regional klapa music festivals (VIII Mediterranean Festival in Casablanca 1983), among which the "Omiš Klapa Festival" is one of the most renowned.
