Please use for all releases of Klapa Cambi until 2007 and only for releases pertaining to Klapa Cambi (Kaštel Kambelovac) from 2007 onwards. For releases from 2007 onwards pertaining to Klapa Cambi (Split) please use Klapa Cambi (2). Klapa Cambi was founded in 1986 under the name KUD “Cambi” (KUD - Cultur and Art Union - popular working people clubs during the communist time in former Yugoslavia). This famous Croatian Klapa choir from Kaštel Kambelovac (Dalmatia) got its name from the noble local Cambi family. Klapa Cambi gained its today´s reputation as one of the best Croatian Klapas after performing at the Omiš Klapa Music Festival in 1991. "Cambi" won in the meantime numerous festival awards. The choire is known for combining tradition and popular sound. Some of their most popular songs are "Ne more mi bit", "Kriva karta", "Dugo nije pala kiša", "Popucale rebatine", "Od zipke do križa", "Jenda rič", "Sad kada došla si…" but also many more. This Klapa is to be differed from the Klapa Cambi (2) from Split Both originate from the KUD “Cambi”, but got separated into two different klapa ensambles in 2007. They still carry the same name, although situated in different towns. The case ist still running in court.
