Musician / Composer of Electronic, Folk and World
Komodo is a Montreal-based composer, musician and DJ who specializes in playing fast dub basslines on the Australian didgeridoo, as well as producing heavy beats and bass, and playing an assortment of other instruments such as Turkish flute, frame drum, and Chinese percussion. His DJ sets feature live performance on his instruments and showcase many of his original tracks produced specifically for his live shows. In Montreal, Komodo currently runs a bass music night called Komodo Dubs that has been graced by such international electronic music luminaries as Shackleton, Goth-Trad, Benga, N-Type, 2562, Sukh Knight, RSD, and Caspa. These events have also played host to many of Montreal's most respected and talented DJs and bass music producers. Komodo recently returned to the studio after several years of producing shows, touring internationally, and working on soundtracks for contemporary dance, theatre, multimedia installations, and television documentaries. The resulting collection of music is a culmination of ideas and experiences since Komodo's critically-acclaimed "Subluna" was released in 2008. Entitled "Shadow Dance", Komodo's second full-length album was released on May 24th, 2011.
