Korkkijalka was a Finnish folk band, most known for playing Irish folk music. The band was founded in 1982 as "Shandrum". In 1984 the band, led by Kari Reiman, played in a theatre play called "Richard's Corkleg" by Brendan Behan. Record label Hi-Hat wanted to release the soundtrack, but demanded that the name of the band should be in Finnish, and this is how Shandrum changed into Korkkijalka. The band was disbanded around 1989.
