Krešimir Oblak was a Croatian composer, arranger, jazz pianist and conductor. He was also the husband of Zdenka Vučković, the first real pop-music-songstress in former Yugoslavia. Born August 28, 1929 in Zagreb, died January 3, 2014 in Zagreb. He completed his music education in Zagreb. Already as a 15 years old boy he became a jazz fan, so in 1944 he and Adalbert Marković formed the Admira jazz orchestra. After the end of WWII he was a pianist and arranger in the Emanon orchestra with which he performed at the Hrvatski Glazbeni Zavod and other dance halls in Zagreb. He was a member of the Edo Utrobičić Quintet which was a backing band in Ivo Robić's first Jugoton releases. From 1957 he works as a music editor at the Zagreb Radio, and later becomes a music editor/producer of the Plesni Orkestar RTV Zagreb. He was a judging body member of many festivals and acted as an editor of note editions issued by the Croatian Music Association. He was one of the organizers of the Eurovision 1990 competition which was held in Zagreb.
