HOMETOWN ARTIST: Edimburgh (UK) GENRE: Electronic/Beats/Bass FORMAT: Digital LABEL: Beat Machine Records CATALOG: BMR004 DEALERS: Believe Digital ARTWORK by: This Means Nothing RELEASE DATE: March, 19 PRESS: Defining Bass Music is not easy. The term itself involves different musical genres that evolved over the time and took "life of their own." Even though Welcome To Warp Street covers fully with this definition because of the importance of the element BASS on each track. The bass (wicked, violent and distorted) becomes our travel mate along the "Warp Street", defining the melodic line and drawing all the boundary and completion elements of each stage. From Blood Money where actually the melodic theme of the bass gives life to an articulated structure till its melodic explosion, it changes into Welcome To Warp Street, characterized by a "wicked" bass, made even more violent by a synth intervention, that accentuates the melody until the deformation (Warp) that looks more like an implosion of itself. The EP is completed with Rear View Window, where our travel mate takes the form of a guitar that, maintaining distorted and violent characteristics, makes us understand that we still are within the confines of "Warp Street."
