CD in standard jewel-case with 11-page booklet. This album contains music from the only region in Africa where the panpipes are played. The instruments played on this CD are: embaire (log xylophone); endere (flute); endingidi (tube fiddle); endongo (thumb piano); endumi (small drum); engalabi (long drum); engoma enene (big drum); enkwanzi (panpipes); ensaasi (shakers). All tracks - traditional repertoire Recordings - by Joop Veuger using an Aiwa HD-S100 digital recorder and two Beyer microphones MCE 86N in April 1994 on location at Oortjeshekken, Ooy, Netherlands (during the concert tour of Kasata Group), and in September 1996 in Nakisenyi, Uganda (tracks 4 & 9). Track titles are translated in the booklet of the CD as follows: 01 "Play the xylophone embaire and I'll tell you a story" 02 [not translated, but explained as a musical game for 3 players] 03 "Pest birds" 04 "The favourite wife did not mourn, she was roaming the village" 05 "Slow embrace" 06 "This beautiful village knows everything" 07 [not translated] 08 "Don't judge me by my old age" 09 "Party mingling" 10 - 11 "Money is all" 12 "If you're shy you can't dance"
