Kurt Henry

On returning to Massachusetts from New-York in 1979, Christian Marclay asked his friend Kurt Henry to write lyrics and music for his musical. This collaboration led the two of them to form their own group: The Bachelors, even. They began performing with Marclay singing and playing percussion, and Henry playing the guitar. They would play in front of projected 16-mm and super-8 film loops, often cartoons. In 1980, they performed at Club Foot in San Francisco with Bruce Conner. They supplied their own rhythm section with backing tapes made by Marclay and played on a boom box that turned out to be the basis of his future as a performer.
