Kuru was a death metal/grindcore band that formed in late 1994 in Nepean (now a part of Ottawa suburb), Ontario. They were initially called Nazi Occupied, but in January of 1995 they changed their name to Kuru. They disbanded on February 19, 2000, performing a farewell show/CD release party (for "Hooray For Vaginas") at Molly McGuire's in Ottawa.
