Producer of Dance
A.k.a. Katsuyuki Hosoda Goldcard Sounds Kut Kut Chang'
Japanese House DJ/producer from Tokyo. Kut started out in Tokyo spinning parties around 1989. Soon he purchased his first sampler and began making tracks on his own in the early 90's. Shortly thereafter, he quit DJing in favor of production. From 1994-1998 he spent time in various US cities. He absorbed the vibes and techniques there from many US studios including NY's D&D Studios. After coming back to Japan, Kut dropped out of production for a few years. This didn't last long as the music called him back. Elephanthaus/Real Estate Records owner Tim Baker discovered Kut and signed him for 3 EP's. Unlike many Japanese artists, Kut soon aimed to focus on the international game. New York's 4th Floor Records quickly signed him for "Kut Presents Hot for Love". These disco flavored cuts quickly found their way into playlists, charts and record bags of many DJ's all over the world. At the same time, Kut started focusing on Europe and was immediately picked up for several EP's and put on remix duty on such labels as Bush (UK) and Oxyd Records (Italy). Delving headfirst in a new direction (Techno and Tech-House) Kut's remix for DJ Kruze's "Let Me In" on Bush ended up on Carl Cox's Live 2nd Session – Area 2, Detroit. His 2003 R.I.C.H. EP on the US's biggest Tech-House label Big Chief rocked clubs internationally and was bagged and charted by a myriad of high profile DJ's over the world. In 2004, Seishi Ono & Kut Goldcard's Plug 1 EP was cained by hundreds of DJ's including Carl Cox. 2005 saw remixes on Toolroom Trax (UK) and Brickhouse (Germany). Recently he was signed to United Nation of House on C2 Records (UK) / CR2 Records (UK).
