French jazz guitarist, arranger and composer, 22 September 1923 in Haubourdin, Hauts-de-France – 10 February 2017 in Levallois-Perret, Île-de-France. French studio session man; one the first guitar player in Paris to play with a Fender in the fifties. Petit came from the Jazz scene, and he backed almost all the French singers from Johnny Hallyday to Gilbert Becaud or Françoise Hardy.
