A.k.a. Lowri-Ann Richards
Welsh vocalist, dancer, and actress. She studied acting at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, in London, and singing under the instruction of Welsh tenor, Jeffrey Talbot. After a stint working as a dancer promoting the Polydor disco compilation, Boogie Bus, she and two of her fellow dancers (Pereno, and Sparks), co-founded the electro / mime / burlesque / music troupe, Shock (2), in 1979, with whom she remained until 1981. On her departure from the group, along with Robert Pereno, the pair went on to work with Tight Fit before forming the group Pleasure And The Beast, in 1982. During this time, Richards was also appearing regularly as a dancer in music videos like Einstein A Go-Go, and Nightmares, as well as on TV in programmes such as Jangles, The Gentle Touch, and Metal Mickey. She made her film debut in 1980 playing Jane in 'Breaking Glass', and would go on to work with Paul McCartney on the film 'Give My Regards To Broad Street'. As a Welsh-speaker she has appeared many times on Welsh language television and radio, and once had her own TV show called 'Pyrfformiad' (Performance). She continues to appear in a variety of performing arts, and has been touring a theatrical play based on her career, called 'Whatever Happened To La La Shockette?', since 2013.
