Rock, Folk and World
French folk-rock group founded in 1978 by Laurent Vercambre after his departure from Malicorne. Willing to step away from the rather sad and depressive repertoire of his previous band, he started this "Brotherhood of Fools" to play lighter and funny/humoristic songs. Despite its musical and critical sucess, La Confrérie didn't last long and folded in 1980 leaving only one album. La Confrérie Des Fous included a string quartet in its line-up, and is thus considered as the precursor of the very successful 'Le Quatuor' founded by Vercambre in end-1980, with several string players of La Confrérie, and with the same humoristic approach.
