La Fanfafonie was a group of street musicians (walking band) formed during the winter of 1980. There were 8 members at the time, of various ages and backgrounds, some were professional musicians and others self-taught. While active from 1980 to 1984 they performed primarily in Québec, but they also did 2 short tours in Europe in 1982 and 1983. In 1984 they performed briefly for Cirque Du Soleil and recorded two 7" Singles for them as well, that happen to be their only known recordings. After their break up some of the members remained as crew for Cirque Du Soleil.
