Laila Dahl was born 15 April 1964 in Ludvika, Sweden, and was raised in Lycksele. She is a Swedish christian singer, songwriter, author and speaker. She was discovered as a singer at 18 by the record company Prim. They also released her first albums. Her album "Efter Regn" gave her a Grammis award in 1987 and was also released in several European countries. Laila took part in the Swedish Melodifestivalen in 1991, the pre-selections for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song Annie and finished 4th. In 2005 she released her first book, and she remains active.
