The alt-pop band Lake Malawi formed in 2013, opened for Thirty Seconds to Mars in 2014 and played at The Great Escape 2015 (review) releasing the anticipated EP "We Are Making Love Again" featuring the single Chinese Trees. In 2016, the band supported Mika in Prague and played at major festivals such as Colours of Ostrava and Rock for People. This year, apart from extensive touring in the Czech Republic, they did a eight-date tour in England. Consisting of Albert Černý, Jeroným Šubrt (bass and keys), Antonín Hrabal (drums) and Patrick Karpentski (guitars), Lake Malawi are currently in the studio working on their first full-length debut album entitled "Surrounded By Light" (due out in Nov-Dec 2017). The Kooks recently picked Lake Malawi as their support act for their November 11th show in Prague. After that, they will be touring the country promoting the new record. Special album release shows in Brno (Dec 5th) and Prague (Dec 6th) will feature Banfi as special guest.
