Landscape Prayers was formed in Durban South Africa by guitarist Nibs Van Der Spuy in 1992/3. The first line up was a trio with Ross Campbell and Didier Noblia on drums and bass respectively - this line up recorded their first album Landscape Prayers in '93. The long standing line up which went on to record three more albums and tour extensively was made up of Nibs on guitar, Logan Byrne on bass, Bruce Baker on drums and Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby on violin. Incorporating elements of just about every genre from baroque to bluegrass, Landscape Prayers were still most definitely South African. Nibs' intricate guitar picking blended beautifully with Anton's fiddle style and both were rooted solidly by Logan's Afro groove style and Bruce's on-the-nail ballistic drum accuracy. Nibs has since gone on to record and release many solo albums. Albums Landscape Prayers 1995 Bush Telegraph 1997 Transmigration Man 1999 Lontano 2002
