Latin and Pop
The band formed in 1997 by Alexandru Ionescu and Dumitru Tartopan from pure passion for Spanish guitar. The first stage appearances are at Eliad House, then at show "Vânare de Vânt" ("Hunting the Wind") to Romanian Televison TVR2 in 1998, promoted by Valeriu Sterian . In 1999 won 1st prize at Light Music Festival Amara, 2nd prize at Festival Mamaia and following that same year released first album, "Pasiune" ("Passion"). In 2000 Pepe benefiting from the strong image capital decide to leave the group in favor of a solo career and Latin Express goes into obscurity until 2002 when founding members merged with part of the band "" Marius Popa -voice, Daniel Vlad - bass, Sorin Pătru - drums 2002 - released the album "E Altceva" ("Something Else"). Radio Romania awards Latin Express for this album with prize for best Latin Album in the Third Edition of Musical Gala, February 16, 2003. 2004 - 2005 a second rupture occurs because of musical divergences between members and a group unfavorable circumstances in the music market. 2010 - In April the band returns with Alexandru Ionescu "Rubio" on vocals, approaching a new musical concept. Latin Express is currently composed of three members: Alex Rubio (Ionescu) - vocals, guitar, Ionuţ Dumitru - guitar, Adrian Teodorovici - guitar.
