English classical violinist, born in London in 1976. She studied with Itzhak Rashkovsky at the Royal College of Music in London. She co-founded the Belcea Quartet in 1994 and was a member of it for 16 years, before joining the Nash Ensemble and the London Bridge Ensemble in 2010. She was appointed leader of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for the 2012-2013 season. She plays the 1731 "Payne McThuen" Stradivarius formerly used by Siegmund Nissel.
