Laura MacKenzie is an American flautist and piper based in Minnesota. She traces her roots back to Scotland via Nova Scotia, Canada and Northern Ireland. MacKenzie's musical career has concentrated on her heritage and she plays primarily folk and Celtic music. She has also worked as a producer on the radio series A Prarie Home Companion. MacKenzie was an early member of Boiled In Lead and has made guest appearances on their albums since. In recent years she has collaborated with Altan guitarist Dáithí Sproule and with Ross Sutter. She is also a member of Willow Brae with harpist Andrea Stern and percussionist Michael Bissonnette.
