Lauren Magnus
Lauren Magnus, violist, joins the Louisiana Philarmonic Orchestra in it's 2014-15 season.. Prior to joining the LPO, Lauren was a member of the San Antonio Symphony for six seasons. While in San Antonio, Lauren was on the faculty of Our Lady of the Lake University, and maintained a strong private teaching studio. She frequently performs with chamber ensembles, such as Camerata San Antonio, Musical Offerings, and The Olmos Ensemble. Lauren has played with several music festivals, including the Utah Festival Opera, Roundtop International Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Aspen Music Festival. She holds a bachelor's degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Masters degree from Rice University. Lauren is married to Steve Menard, Assistant Professor of Trombone at Louisiana State University. They reside with their dog, Dexter, in Baton Rouge.
