A.k.a. Emerson Lee Bellamy
American country music songwriter and manager. Born: May 15, 1927 - Died: December 2, 1978. He was manager for country singers Marty Robbins, Bobby Helms, Jimmy C. Newman and George Jones (2). In the late 1970s, Barry Sadler shot and killed Lee Emerson. The shooting took place at night in front of Sadler's house. Pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter, Sadler was sentenced to four to five years in prison, but all but 30 days was suspended.
