Em 1988 é convidado por CARLOS GONÇALVES, para fazer parte do conjunto de músicos de AMÁLIA RODRIGUES: CARLOS GONÇALVES (guitarra), LUIS RIBEIRO (guitarra), LELO NOGUEIRA (viola) JOEL PINA (viola baixo). Desde 1999, final da vida artística de AMÁLIA, passa a acompanhar CARLOS GONÇALVES em recitais, concertos e festivais.
