As an advocate of avant-garde and experimental music Lenio Liatsou has given commissions and countless premieres of new works. She has worked with composers such as Peter Eotvos, Helmut Lachenmann, Beat Furrer, Manos Tsangaris and Georges Aperghis. She has performed in prominent concert halls and festivals, such as Carnegie Hall, Purcell Room, Athens Megaron Concert Hall, Piccolo Teatro, Onassis Cultural Centre, Musica Europa Cultura 2000, Darmstadt International Summer Course for New Music 2012, Ensembl[:E]uropa (Cologne), Klangspuren (Innsbruck) , Salzburg Biennale a.o. She has recorded for GOD Records, WDR, ORF, Disc's Club and Dissonance Records. In 2015 a lp recording of the piano works of G.Aperghis will be released by the Austrian label GOD Records. She studied with Susan Bradshaw, Andrew Ball, Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Georges Pludermacher (Goldsmiths College, Royal College of Music, Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris). She is a member of the Piandemonium Ensemble (6 pianos – 12 pianists) and a founding member and pianist of the greek new music ensemble dissonArt (www.dissonart.gr). Between 2003 -2012 she taught Contemporary piano repertoire at the Music department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
