Leon Kiser was from Sandy Ridge in Dickenson County, Virginia. He was born into music, his mother played clawhammer banjo and His father preached. In 1975 with his band the Holston Mountain Boys, he issued his only album on which he wrote nine of the album’s 11 songs.
