For Players Only was commissioned from Leroy Jenkins by the Jazz Composer's Orchestra in 1974. It was first presented by the Jazz Composer's Orchestra Association, Inc. and WKCR-FM Radio during four Workshop Concerts at Columbia University's Wollman Auditorium from January 28 through January 31, 1975. Publisher: RE: Publishing (BMI) Recorded on January 30th, 1975. Remote sound equipment supplied by Fedco Audio Labs.
