Leslie Bayne, composer and keyboarder, started doing music with Richard Johansson in 1988 as Pole Position, which changed name to Elegant Machinery in 1989. Johan Malmgren joined the band as a tour musician in 1992 and replaced Leslie. Leslie returned to the band for one show in Berlin 2006, on stage for the first time in almost fifteen years. Since 2016 he is back in the band again.
