Product Description These rare recordings made at Birdland in New York City on three consecutive Monday nights in the winter of 1951 capture some of the finest ever freewheeling playing of the iconic saxophonist. The superb rhythm section, comprising pianist John Lewis, bassist Gene Ramey and the incomparable Jo Jones on drums was just perfect for Prez . Their consumate professionalism makes this marriage "made in heaven" really just too marvellous for words!
