Levitating Churches first crawled from the garage in 2011 and hail from the inner suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, the band consisting of Dave, Matt and Shaun gleaned their name from a miss-heard Roky Erickson lyric (learning temples, meditating churches) and draws inspiration from not only Roky but bands such as Dead Moon, Coloured Balls and Black Sabbath to name just a few.
