Singer / Producer of Classical
Lida Brodenova (1902-1990) was a singer, producer and teacher of Czechoslovak opera. Born in Czechoslovakia, Brodenova studied voice at Music Conservatory in Brno and began her career at the French Theater in Brno. In the 1930s, she performed operettas with various Czech and German troupes. In 1940, she and her Jewish husband Boris Brodenov emigrated to the United States, where she she performed mostly Czech opera on the radio and in the theater, at some point heading her own Sokol Opera Company.
