Hip-Hop/Rap
A.k.a. Delbert Harris
Delbert “RAS” Harris aka Lil Raskull is one of the original pioneers of Christian Hip Hop. He is the leading artist to bring Houston, Texas to the national stage in the genre. Before accepting Christ, RAS was a mainstream rap artist who was nominated for a Sammy Davis Jr. Award for his song “Thank God” off his first independent album in 1995. With that release RAS enjoyed newcomer industry success out selling artist such as Tupac, Master P, and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony in the southern region (RIAA documented). That very same year RAS was led to devote his entire life to doing God’s will, and in early 1996 he signed with a Texas based Christian Hip Hop label called Grapetree Records (EMI). RAS became the leading artist for the label and by 2000 Grapetree Records became the number one Christian Hip Hop recording label in the world (based on notoriety and sells).
