American sports announcer, best known for his work on college football and New York Mets baseball broadcasts. In 1988 Nelson won the Ford C. Frick award from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Born May 25, 1919 in Pulaski, Tennessee, USA. Died June 10, 1995 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
