A.k.a. Lisa Cork-Twiss

Female vocalist for Real McCoy until 1999, she replaced Patsy (Patricia "Patzy" Peterson). Born Indianapolis on October 30th 1969. Lisa Cork came from a musical family: her mother was a pianist/composer, her uncle Carl Perkins, jazz pianist, was renowned in the 50's West Coast scene. She grew up singing in the church as many singers of color in the South. She started her 1st band in High School called, Lisa Cork & The Screws in the 80s (it was her 'spiked dog collar phase'). She was in and out of a few bands and then joined the Houston, TX based band in 1986 called SoWat where she met Brent Argovitz. SoWat moved to NYC (actually to Hoboken, NJ) and broke up soon afterwards. She began her career performing and writing songs with various producers in New York, including singing torch songs in a cabaret. Brent Argovitz later was to become the musical director for such acts as Hathaway and Taylor Dane before becoming involved with The Real McCoy in the same capacity. He also toured with them on drums. He asked Lisa Cork if she would like to audition after Patsy was no longer involved. The audition obviously went well. Lisa thinks it was based on the fact of how well her voice blended with Vanessa Mason as most of the vocals were in unison. Her 1st show with The Real McCoy was at the World Music Awards in Monaco in 1996. Which was a whirlwind of an incredible experience considering that 2 weeks prior she was literally working as a waitress in a cocktail bar At present days she can be found on SoundCloud under her new last name Cork-Twiss. She currently lives in Austin, TX and performs in a band called Deep Eddie, which plays mostly classic rock. She is married to Jeff Twiss. She likes jogging, bike riding, reading books, cooking and she loves to daydream.
